Vision:
- Every rural household has drinking water supply in adequate quantity of prescribed quality on regular and long-term basis at affordable service delivery charges leading to improvement in living standards of rural communities.
The main objectives of the department are as follows:-

1. Survey, Investigation and Implementation of Water Supply Schemes to provide drinking water of prescribed quality and quantity in rural areas. -
2. Installation and Maintenance of Handpumps.

3. Implementation of schemes in water quality effected areas to provide safe drinking water.

4. Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance of Rural Water Supply sources.

5. Implementation of Support Activities for Community Mobilization, Awareness and Capacity Building.
